I have an iPhone6 and when i enable personal hotpsot i can connect with the iphone from any laptop running linux or windows7. But my windows8 laptop failed. It did make a wifi connection, and the iphone counted 1 connected device. But i could not access any internet address. Specifically I was having the same "no Internet connection" when connecting Ring cameras. So the set up of the Ring camera was not possible. I un-plugged the wireless camera DVR and tried to connect. All of a sudden no Internet problems and for the first time the ring cameras connected. Plug back in the wireless camera DVR and all is working. Restart your System. The Orbi router has synced with the satellite unit successfully. I can see the Orbi WiFi on my device but when I connect it connects successfully but says that there is no Internet. I can connect to the DGN2000 which is right next to it and access the Internet.

My laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (model: I3567-3636BLK-PUS). Windows 10. Wireless adapter is Qualcomm QCA9565 802.11b/g/n. I would like to add that i tried changing the ip to 8.8.8.8 or is that dns something and now when I turn the laptop on, it would still have no internet, but I just leave it on for an hour or so and when I check again, i would suddenly have internet. WiFi connected but no Internet access! Help! Oh yes, how many times have I seen topics on forums called with these exact words. So many various phones, PCs, routers involved, so many possible reasons of the same problem and so many solutions that can help in one case but don’t work in another.
